Plain as a links fairway

Privacy Policy

On the links you can see every bump from the tee. This page should be just as open.

On a seaside course nothing hides behind trees. I'd like my site to be the same. So here is your information, step by step, the way I'd walk you round the first few holes.

Round the course in five holes

Who keeps the scorecard

Whose site is this, and how do I get in touch?

It's Fiona's Links Golf. The site, the books and the membership all go under that brand.

Get in touch at [email protected].

Stepping on the first tee

Is anything collected when I just open the site?

Hardly anything. You don't make an account, and the site has no sign-up form.

No advertising cookies. No tracking pixels. No Google or Facebook trackers. No analytics scripts.

Cloudflare hosts the site. It processes your IP address to deliver the pages and guard them.

Buying a book

What do you find out about me when I buy?

At its checkout, Hotmart gathers your name, email, billing and payment details. Your card is never shown to me.

Afterwards Hotmart reports back: your email, the book you chose, its price, your country and the video or link you followed.

For book orders I hold a scrambled version of your email rather than the email.

Leaving the checkout early

What if I walk away before paying?

If you start a checkout and don't finish, or the payment fails, Hotmart may pass me your name and email.

I may then send no more than two emails to remind you. One click puts a stop to them. And if you've already bought, I won't write.

Becoming a member

What is kept once I'm a member?

Hotmart passes on your name, email, country, time zone, membership status and dates, and which video or link you came from. They're kept so the letters reach you.

The letters report back whether they were delivered and which links in them were clicked.

Writing to me

Do you keep the emails I send you?

I keep your message and your email address so I can reply.

The full raw copy of each email is deleted after 90 days. The text of your message stays, so I can keep track of what we've said.

A wee bit of AI help

Does AI play any part in your replies?

An AI writing assistant may help draft my replies, so you're not kept waiting. Your message is used only for that job.

What it's used for

Why do you need my information at all?

To get your books and letters to you, to answer your questions, and to handle refunds.

To see which videos are doing some good.

And to tell you about other books from Fiona's Links Golf. There's an unsubscribe link in every one of those emails.

What I'll not do

Will my information end up with advertisers?

No. I'll never sell or rent your personal information, and I'll never share it for advertising.

The helpers I use

Which outside services handle my information?

Hotmart looks after payments, book delivery and membership billing. Resend sends the emails. Cloudflare hosts the site, stores my data and receives the email you send.

Every one of them has its own privacy policy.

Your choices

How do I stop emails or have my data removed?

Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link. Replying with the word “unsubscribe” works as well.

Want to see, correct or delete your data? Write to [email protected]. You'll have an answer within 30 days. That holds wherever you live in the US, California included.

Hotmart holds its own purchase records, because the law requires it.

How long it's kept

When do you let go of my details?

Membership data is kept while you're a member and until you ask me to delete it.

If you unsubscribe, all that's left is a scrambled “do not email” note, so nothing is ever sent to you again. Order records are kept for as long as the law requires.

Grown-ups' game

Can children use the books or the membership?

They're meant for adults. Data from children under 13 is not something I knowingly collect.

When this page changes

How do I know this page is up to date?

When I change it, I also change the “Last updated” date. That date is your guide.
